We tend to focus on the different sales techniques and strategies, thinking that is the first thing we should do to increase our sales.

However, without the right mindset, even if you have the best sales techniques and strategies, you will not improve your results or at least not significantly!

If you want to master sales, you have to master your mind. Here are 7 key areas that will set you apart!

1. 🙅‍♂️ “It Can’t Be Done”

Have a can-do attitude and be solution-oriented.

Ask yourself “How can I get it done?”

Tell yourself “There are strategies that I can get it done.”, “If someone can do it, I can do it.”

So, never say it cannot be done. You’ve got to say, “I can do it.”

2. 💼 “It’s Not My Job/Department”

Do whatever it takes to give the best customer experience especially in customer service and technical support.

Top sales performers know that if customer service fails the customers, it will affect their sales.

Therefore, even though we have a service department to help us with sales.

Top sales performers always have the mindset, service is part of sales.

And no matter what, we are not going to fail, whether it’s technical support, delivery, sales, or performance, always ensure that we give a 100% in all departments.

3. 👉 “It’s Not My Fault.” “It’s Your Fault.” “It’s Their Fault”

Take 100% responsibility for all actions and results, no excuses.

If you are one of those that always say,

“It’s not my fault, it’s their fault.”

“It’s the other departments. They never helped me.”

“They never give me this.”

You’ve got to stop doing that.

Top sales performers don’t blame, don’t make excuses.

They are responsible, take ownership, and are accountable.

4. ❌ “No, My. Customer, you are Wrong”

Empathize with the customer to strategically, and tactically communicate accordingly.

Top sales performers will never make the customers wrong.

Top sales performers have special skills, special weapons, and empathy towards the customers’ objection.

They say things like, “I understand your concern.”

“I hear you Mr. Customer, and that’s why I’m here for you.”

So, whatever it is, they never tell the customer, “Customer, you are wrong.”

5. 👎 “My Company, My Product is not the best”

Believe that your company and product is the best.

“My product is the best.”

“My company is the best.”

Even though there may be service problems, quality issues, top salespeople still have the mindset that they are the best.

Because if you don’t have that kind of mindset, what are you communicating to the customers?

“We are okay.”

“We are average.”

So go out there and tell your customers,

“We are the best.”  Sell the confidence!

6. 🌴 “I’m so sorry Mr. Customer; I’m on Holiday”

Always be ready to serve the customer, and get a colleague to solve their problems when needed.

Even though the top sales performer is on holiday.

They will still handle the customer with care, saying things like,

“Mr. Customer, you know what?”

“Let me get someone to call you right now to settle this issue for you.”

They will never say, “You know what? I am not in the office.”

It’s my holiday. I’m on leave.”

“Can you call…”

No, don’t make the customer do anything.

You got to get someone to call your customer.

7. ⛔ “It’s Too Hard, I Quit.”

A winner never quits! Keep going even when it’s tough until you succeed!

“It is hard, and I am going to challenge myself to succeed.”

Whether it’s in a crisis or a normal sales day, every day, we have challenges.

If you want to be a top sales performer and you want to catapult and skyrocket your sales, you’ve got to say, “I am not going to quit.”

“I am going to challenge myself”

“It is hard, but I am tougher than the scenario.”

“It is tough, but I am tougher than the scenario.”

It’s not going to be easy, but it is worthwhile.

Because when we do things that are hard, our life is going to be easy.

If we only do the easy things, our life is going to be hard.

Apply this mindset daily and you will start seeing the shift in your results!
