At 9 am today, our 22-year-old Sales Ninja Syahnaz rode into the office with a spanking new bike, the Kawasaki Ninja! He was practically beaming over his new bike and was very proud of it!
5 months back before joining Sales Ninja, he planned to save up for a new bike.
At the same time, he saw this Sales Ninja’s job advertisement
He applied for the job and got a position as a Sales Ninja HUNTER. He worked hard, prospected every day for new customers, showed outstanding commitment, and finally met his goal within 3 months!
Here are things that you must know.
1. With A Goal In Mind, You Will Push Yourself
Goals drive a person. In Syahnaz’s case, he got his dream bike just months after joining Sales Ninja. How? He knows that in order to pay for the bike, he needs X amount of money and in order to achieve that, he needs to close Y number of sales.
Salespeople need to have GOALS to close more sales. Your goal could be to buy a new house, a new car, to be the best salesperson in your company, or even to give your family a comfortable life. With those goals, you’ll work towards it and push yourself so that your goals will be achieved.
Without a goal, you’ll only be drifting with nothing to look forward to.
2. You’ll Get Pain. Lots Of It.
It won’t be easy.
You’ll face tough challenges. Shahnaz received lots of canceled appointments, customers pulling back because of unavailability and unsuitable dates. Any salesperson would be disappointed and feel down, he was too. But he moved on to the next prospect and continued closing.
Most salespeople feel depressed when situations don’t go their way. A demotivated salesperson might just pack up and avoid making any more calls for the day and go home.
But a salesperson who knows how to motivate himself will know how to pick himself up. You’ll never know, your next call could get you a BIG sale. Find out how to get yourself and your sales team motivated to do more!
3. The Bike Really STANDS Out
Parked between two regular motorbikes, the sportier and larger Kawasaki Ninja really overshadows the rest.
Likewise, the best salesperson will stand out among other regular salespeople. Not everyone can be the best salesperson because it takes:
- Lots of determination to be #1
- Lots of effort
- Lots of self-determination
- Lots of learning from painful mistakes
- Lots of continuous learning
- and more!
If a salesperson is not ready to do those, then they’ll just be like the regular bikes at the side…
They are missing out on all the attention, commissions, fast-paced and challenging journey that the superbike can give!
Salespeople have 2 choices. To be a regular bike or a superbike.
The journey to be a superbike may be tough, but the differences in results are miles apart. You will get lots more with a superbike than a regular one. Once you have lived the life of a superbike, you’ll never go back.
Is your team facing lots of sales challenges and feeling demotivated? Here’s how to motivate your team again to be being Sales Warriors!
