If you want to be successful and rich not only in the short run but in the long run, you need long-term sustainable techniques and strategies to keep you motivated, because with great success comes great challenges and if we want to grow our wealth, we have to constantly be solving more and more, bigger and bigger problems.

Here’s what I do to keep myself on track every single day:

1. 🔁 Ritual & Routine

Start your day with a motivational ritual and routine, it can be as simple as not hitting the snooze button and just getting up in the morning!

What’s the first thing that you do in the morning?

Some people hit the snooze button

Some people scroll social media

Too many people underestimate the small things in life, when you do the small things right repeatedly, it becomes a good habit, and that habit eventually becomes your good character.

Here are some rituals and routines you can do to instill discipline and be more motivated:

– Wake up and get out of bed!

– Do affirmations

– Meditate

With a comforter right above you, you are comfortable. As humans to grow, we need to fight against our comfort zone, and breakthrough it!

So if you are a snoozer, resist and replace that habit! Just get up!

2. 🔥 Warm Up Your Body

This is another ritual and routine that you can do. Just like a cold engine, it’s hard to start and get moving in the morning. So you’ll need to get into the process of warming it up.

Take 30-seconds to warm up your body in the morning with some light exercises or stretching.

Once you’re warmed up, you’re ready to motivate yourself, and if you’re leading a team, to motivate others as well!

3. 🎵 Music

Music has a special quality to it where our body finds it hard to resist moving to the beat. So if you want to be upbeat, listen to pumped-up music with fast and energetic beats!

Some of the music that I use are trance or progressive music.

These upbeat genres will bring my emotions up. So I’m really, really motivated even before I start my work, especially when I need to motivate my team, I will listen to energetic emotional music that can bring my energy from low to high in an instant!

Use it the next time you need a pick-me-up!

4. 😀 Positive Visualization

Visualization is the ability to imagine and see how your day goes.

Visualization is the ability to see what your vision is all about. This is our superpower as humans!

Use it to visualize that you’re having a good day, visualize that you’re going to close sales, visualize that you’re going to get tons of leads.

If you visualize positive things, you are going to motivate yourself.

If you visualize negative things, you are going to demotivate yourself.

What are you seeing today?

You may have eyes, but are you looking at the right things that serve you?

5. 🗣 Verbalization

Verbalization means you share outwardly what you want to do, committing to the tasks that you want to achieve for the day.

If you verbalize it out, speak it out loud, you’re telling the world that you are not going to fail because now you’ve got a public declaration.

Who do you declare this to? It can be your colleagues, your boss, your friends, social media, your family, verbalize what you want to achieve for the day so that you’re going to be motivated for that day.

Share outwardly what you intend to do daily with those around you and fully commit to it!

6. 🧠 Positive Self Talk

Have you ever lost a car key and then you told yourself, “Oh my God, my memory is so bad.” That is talking to yourself negatively. Negative-talk creates drag in your life.

What you need to do instead, is every single time when good things happen to you, for example, someone picks up your phone. You say “Yes!”. Someone grants you an appointment. “Yes!”. You get a sale. “Yes!”

Constantly fill your mind with positive talk, it will not have space for negativity, and you’ll be more motivated and better equipped for success.

7. 🥅 Goals

What do you want to accomplish for the day?

Plan it in the morning, look at your calendar.

I do my planning every single morning, and ask myself “what do I want to accomplish for the day?” Then I gain clarity and set the goal.

Goals are essential for motivation because it acts as magnets that pull us forward to take action into the future.

8.❗Accountability

Now, whether you want to call 30 prospects, 50 prospects, or follow up on 10 different deals,

set the goal and hold yourself accountable to achieve it.

What do I mean by accountability?

It means if you set a goal and you fail, you must create a negative consequence by causing yourself some pain. We are creatures driven by pain or pleasure, so utilizing pain is a very effective tool to hold us accountable to keep us on track.

There are many pains that you can use. Here are some examples:

– If you like to eat rice and if you fail to hit the goal, there’s no rice for dinner.

– If you like coffee, no coffee for you.

– If you don’t like to exercise,  and you fail, you exercise.

That way you hold yourself accountable if you fail. There will be some pain installed in you to remind yourself, don’t fail, buck up, and tomorrow, you must succeed!

9. 🆚 Competition

I don’t know about you, but I love competition. Whether it’s on the road and driving fast. Playing sports, or doing sales.

How do you create healthy competition for yourself?

The easiest way is to challenge somebody in your company who has the same goals as you.

You can challenge people to see who can set the most appointments, to see who can close the most sales.

When you’ve gamified your sales activities, it becomes a fun and challenging experience.

10.❓Strong WHY

Self-reflect to find your strongest purpose.

Why are you doing what you need to do?

Why are you getting up?

Why are you going to the office?

Why are you picking up the phone?

Why are you getting rejected?

Why are you seeing the customer?

Why are you pursuing your sales target?

Why do you want to close sales?

You’ve got to know that WHY!

if you don’t find the WHY in you, you’re not going to motivate yourself.

You’re going to give up, be lazy, and procrastinate,

You’ve got to have a strong WHY.

What kind of WHY?

It could be that you’ve got to work for money, to have financial freedom and satisfaction.

You close the sales, so you have a sense of accomplishment, to prove yourself, and challenge yourself!

Whatever it is, you got to have a strong WHY.

So, every single day, you know why you exist, why you’re in sales, you know why you are doing all these things.

And if you don’t have that, you are going to lose motivation.

You can do all the 9 techniques mentioned previously, but if your internal motivation is weak, small, and not fired up. You won’t have the desire to succeed. No matter what you do, you are not going to motivate yourself.

So fundamentally, on the basic level, you got to have a strong WHY.

And if you have a strong WHY you can motivate yourself, overcome challenges, overcome objections, and you’re going to succeed no matter what!
