Does your boss keep breathing down your neck for updates and micromanaging what you do every day? Do you wish that they can just leave you to your work and not asking for updates at the end of the day? Here are 6 simple ways to beat the system.
Make calls first thing when you reach the office
Most salespeople start their work by checking their Facebook and chit-chat at 9 am which probably lasts until 10 am. That’s one hour where you could have closed a sale. Close a sale first thing in the morning and your boss will start bugging your under-performing colleagues instead
Oh no, I forgot
Ever made the mistake of not following up and lost the sale to a competitor? Everyone makes mistakes but the key is to improve and avoid making the same mistake again. The best salespeople always improve to be the best. The commissions that come along with it are the best too.
Focus like a laser
People get distracted easily. So if you easily get distracted when your colleague goes to the washroom which somehow makes you slack for 30 mins, it’s time to evaluate yourself. Instead of getting a 30mins break, give yourself 10mins instead. Then it’s back to making calls.
I can do it on my own
Are you someone who needs to have constant reminders to get things done? Then you are asking to be micromanaged. If you don’t want your boss to constantly look over your shoulder to see what you are doing every 1 hour, then give results without being told to. Close more sales and you and your boss can go home satisfied.
98..99..100%!
Would you like the idea of working with a zombie? Neither does your boss. They are slow, lazy-looking, and un-motivated (except when it comes to eating human meat). Give 100% and you will feel energized. Prospects who hear you over the phone will be drawn into your energy as well and that makes you more likable. That’s another way to close sales better.
Do you lie.. a little?
Most salespeople this bad habit of white lying to customers just to close sales. Once customers find out the truth, there goes your reputation, both yours and your company. To repair that damage would be very tough and it’s just not worth it and if there were sales cops around, you’ll be slapped with a hefty fine. Be honest.
