Grandmaster Hanzo was seen with Sir Richard Branson who is dressed as an air stewardess.

Why is Richard Branson Dressed As An Air Stewardess?

It all started from a bet in 2010. A bet was made by Tony Fernandes and Richard Branson on their Formula One racing teams where the loser of the bet will have to dress as a stewardess and in during one of the flights of the winner’s airline company. Richard Branson’s team lost.

Finally, The Day Has Arrived

This is how Richard Branson looks after wearing the dress. During the flight, Richard Branson had deliberately dropped a whole tray of juice on Tony Fernandes’ lap as a joke. On top of that, he was seen making flight announcements and walking around the airplane meeting, other passengers.

Grandmaster Meets Richard Branson

Grandmaster Hanzo was on the same flight because he was invited by Tony Fernandes. Here is a little background. Grandmaster Hanzo is a contestant in the TV reality series where Tony Fernandes is in it too ( clue: Donald Trump) and that was how he knew Tony Fernandes personally. So, just 2 few days before the flight, Tony Fernandes met up with all the contestants and invited them to this eventful flight. Since Grandmaster did not have anything important over the weekend, he accepted the invitation.

During the flight,  Grandmaster manage to meet up with Richard Branson for a few minutes and his comments were Richard Branson was friendly, down to earth, and ‘sporting’. Though the meeting was short, it was a once in a lifetime event.

What should we take from here?

This is definitely a fun and eventful event and what can we remember from this?

  1. Have confidence in your team. Although in every competition there are winners and losers, you need to build up your team and have confidence in them. Motivate them and push them to achieve greater heights.
  2. It is who you know. Networking is highly important. Grandmaster managed to build a network with Tony Fernandes. You will never know that the people you network with may give you a HUGE opportunity. Sales Ninja Hunter program is designed specifically for networking
  3. Adaptability. Although being a steward is probably something that Richard Branson has never done before, but during the flight, he did his best in trying to adapt to the situation and be a ‘passable’ air stewardess.
  4. Build Rapport. Richard Branson may be a billionaire but he knows how to build rapport with the passengers on the plane. He was not snobbish but he made people feel comfortable.
  5. Subconscious Publicity. During the whole event, Air Asia was having the most publicity. But, in the actual fact, Richard Branson was the one center of attention and subconsciously, it made his Virgin Atlantic Airways famous too. Losing may seem to be a bad thing, but you can turn it around for your advantage too.
  6. Opportunities come but are you prepared? Tony Fernandes invited Grandmaster Hanzo and the other contestants to fly to Perth and back just 2 days before the flight. It was a good thing that Grandmaster was prepared and able to accept the invitation. Likewise, opportunities may present themselves and surprise you, those who are ready can grab it, and those who are not, may not get that opportunity again.

Every event is lessons we can learn from. Though insignificant it will help you in life. Losing is part of life but it is how you learn to pick yourself up, adapt to the situation, and transforming it to your advantage.
